October 2024 marks the completion of Phase 1 of the Beckwith Road/Standiford Avenue Multimodal Safety & Complete Streets Improvement Project with the release of the Project Study Report (PSR). After conducting the community workshop in March 2024 and extensive outreach to project stakeholders and property owners, the project team incorporated this feedback to develop the PSR which is now being released to the public.

The objectives of Phase 1 were to:

  • Establish the purpose of the project and why it is needed (improve safety, reduce congestion, provide dedicated pathways for bicycles and pedestrians, and provide modern facilities for transit and electric vehicles).

  • Conceptualize viable alternatives for the project area to address the above challenges.

  • Identify funding sources and determine the feasibility of the project.

Looking forward, the City is initiating Phase 2 of the project, which will take between 18 months and 2 years to complete. Phase 2 will study the environmental impacts of the alternatives developed in Phase 1 and develop a preferred alternative for Beckwith Road/Standiford Avenue at State Route 99.
